The Charlotte Hornets recently announced the launch of their esports brand and team: The Hornets Venom GT. The Charlotte Hornets affiliate team become the NBA 2k league’s 22nd franchise for the 2020 season.
We were so excited to help the Hornets Venom launch in the Charlotte market with the use of our Clean Graffiti. The day of the announcement, we executed 20 Clean Graffiti locations across the city to help bring awareness to this new brand. The locations we picked targeted the young, tech-savvy sports fans that hang out in popular areas – think breweries, coffee shops and hip neighborhoods. And the end result turned out great!
In case you have no idea what we’re talking about, esports refers to competitive video games, usually involving multiple players. According to this Charlotte Observer article, “Esports have grown increasingly popular in recent years, especially with young sports fans. The global esports market this year is on pace to top $1 billion in revenue for the first time, according to industry analysis firm Newzoo.
