The second do good. feel good. SERIES event is this Saturday, December 5. #thesavageway

We (#thesavageway) have joined forces with Breathe Refuge and NoDa Yoga for an ongoing event series called the do good. feel good. SERIES. The idea behind this series of events stemmed from a desire to put our skills and energy back into the community in which we live – Charlotte. Collectively, we saw a need for an event where you are actively bettering yourself and also assisting others at the same time.

The purpose of the do good. feel good. SERIES is to offer the Charlotte community a workshop in a healing area (yoga, breathwork, etc) or to learn a skill. These events are meant to rejuvenate the body, mind and the soul.

“Bringing our three companies together for an event was a very natural fit,” said Jonathan Winn, owner of Breathe Refuge. “We all exist to positively influence our clients and community. We saw an opportunity to use our areas of expertise to give back to this great neighborhood that we live in.”

THIS SATURDAY: Help the Behailu Academy!

This Saturday, December 5, 2015, we will be hosting a breathwork class led by the one and only Jonathan Winn of Breathe Refuge. The event runs from 1-3pm at the NoDa Yoga studio (3201 N. Davidson St). Event attendees can expect a healing and rejuvenating breathwork class in a safe setting and enjoy a snack from Bruks Bars afterward.

Tickets are $30/person and all proceeds benefit Behailu Academy, a Charlotte area kids art program. They are located in the historic arts district of NoDa – and they rock! The Behailu Academy empowers youth to find and use their voices through the arts, academic support and community service.

Here’s what they do:
– A free after-school youth apprenticeship program that encourages students in 9th-12th grade to stay in school, engage in their communities and pursue arts affiliated opportunities beyond high school.
– 5-buck Fridays where youth take short-term workshops to complete a single project and other workshops such as dance, video editing or oil painting at a low cost.
– Bi-monthly youth arts showcase events open to the public during NoDa’s bi-monthly gallery crawls.
