Now this is a Moss moment! We recently installed this gorgeous inset Moss Art piece at NOVEL River District by Crescent Communities. This is a new luxury apartment community located near the Catawba River in Charlotte, NC (and it’s an awesome space). From design to installation, The Savage Way team handled every aspect of this piece. There is something about an inset Moss Art installation that feels extra special.

We worked hand in hand with our clients BB+M Architecture and PMC Commercial Interiors, Inc in creating the perfect Moss Art installation for this nook in the lobby. We created a free-flowing green moss wall to complement the nature vibes of this luxury apartment community. Our team expertly installed this massive wall feature – and we are so proud! Between the preserved moss, the wood elements and the whimsical animal wallpaper and artwork, @novelriverdistrict nails the biophilic design.
Biophilic Design blends someone’s innate attraction to nature and living things into architecture and interior design. Many modern workspaces seek to integrate biophilic design strategies and the nature-forward approach into their design plans for a variety of reasons; improving employees’ quality of life, meeting sustainability goals and increasing productivity and creativity.
The theme of Novel River District is “Experience Life Wildly Tamed.” What a fitting description of this nature-in-mind space. We love seeing real preserved moss being used in interior design. Being able to take a mood board and custom design something to perfectly complement the vibe of a space is the stuff of our dreams. If you want to check out the space and see the moss in person, you can visit NOVEL River District located at 6006 Interwine Street.

We had the honor of creating a Bad Bunny portrait for our friends at Salud Cerveceria located in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, NC.
Creating custom Moss Art is definitely our specialty. We have clients in both the commercial and residential space that have a unique vision for a project and we are able to bring it to life. Our incredible team of Moss Artists are so capable of creating something out of nothing. Watching the process of having the idea for a Bad Bunny Portrait to seeing it hang on the wall is truly a magical thing to witness.

We brought this idea to the crew at Salud and collaboratively, we landed on this moss color-block approach to a Pop Art piece. We’ve done this style a few times over the years, for example our portrait of Usher, as well as Frida / Biggie / Dolly / Prince. The end result always blows us away.
Bad Bunny is certainly a powerhouse and he truly had a beautiful display of talents during the Super Bowl Halftime Show this past February. We love that we were able to get this piece completed in time for Salud’s “Benito Bowl” Super Bowl watch party. The room was PACKED and everyone enjoyed the artwork. And now, our Bad Bunny portrait officially hangs on the walls of Salud. It’s a reminder of Puerto Rican heritage, progressive beliefs and the desire for love to rise above all. Check out his NPR Tiny Desk Performance to add a little joy to your day.
We adore Benito / Bad Bunny and all he stands for. He represent everything we love about artists; the art of persistence, using your voice for good, creating magic straight from your soul, and doing it your way. Honored we can use our medium to honor such an icon.
Next time you’re at Salud for a Saturday Noche Latina, snag a picture and send it to us on Instagram!

FAQs
Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions we get to better explain the Faux Greenery option with The Savage Way.
Can Faux Greenery be Used Indoor and Outdoor?
Yes! Faux Greenery is a great green wall option for both indoor or outdoor spaces. It can withstand the elements if you want biophilic design outside. It is also a great choice when you have a ton of natural sunlight in your space and you’re worried about fading. Our UV protected product will thrive in these settings.
Is Faux Greenery just for walls?
Faux Greenery is a great green wall solution, however we also offer Faux Greenery for planters, hanging plants from the ceiling, etc. We have a ton of both Fire-rated and non-Fire-rated options to suit your style. Please inquire for more information.
Who is Faux Greenery Perfect For?

How Does a Project Come to Life?
– Consultation Call (let’s talk)
– Estimate Process (1-3 business days depending on complexity of request)
– Signed Contract (50% deposit due upon signing, 4-10 weeks turnaround time depending on complexity.)
– Fabrication & Production (plant magic in process)
– Installation or Shipping (options for install available, nationwide shipping)
Will the Faux Greenery look exactly like the photos I see online?
Faux Foliage is an artistically made product and the exact color, shape, texture and size of the elements used to create the final piece of art may contain variations. Please note that any digital renderings provided may vary from products on location.
What is the Installation Process?
If included in the contract, our experienced team is available to fully install the faux foliage on-site. We work hand-in-hand with our client to ensure we are following any building requirements. Each piece is slightly different, but in general the metal grid is affixed to the wall with simple screws. If we are shipping the end product, we will provide detailed instructions.
How do I maintain a Faux Greenery Wall?
You should not have to do much. If pollen or dust should accumulate when the art is installed outside, lightly spraying with a hose or leaf blowing the area will help remove build up. Refrain from using harsh chemicals or cleaning solutions containing bleach, as they can damage the color and texture of the artificial plants.
If you need to remove dirt or stains from the art when installed inside, you can use a mild soap on a cloth with warm water.
Can I get a Custom Designed Faux Greenery Wall?
Yes! We work with a base that helps create the most aesthetically pleasing look and can then add your custom touch on top of that (think adding colors, adding different textures and varieties of plants) for an additional fee.
Can you Ship Anywhere in the US?
Yes! We have shipped work all over the US and cost just depends on the specifications of the project and location.

The Savage Way has been creating custom Moss Art for almost a decade now. We create everything from 70′ long moss walls in a corporate lobby to a small moss logo in a coffee shop. No matter the size, the fusion of art and nature is something that fuels us as artists. There is something magical about the beautiful dance of color, texture, and use of nature to enhance a space. This “thing” actually has an industry term called Biophilic Design.
By definition, Biophilic Design blends someone’s innate attraction to nature and living things into architecture and interior design. Many modern workspaces seek to integrate biophilic design strategies and the nature-forward approach into their design plans for a variety of reasons; improving employees’ quality of life, meeting sustainability goals and increasing productivity and creativity. Check out this article in House Beautiful to read more on Biophilic Design.
We have the pleasure of installing these calming elements into tons of workspaces in North Carolina and beyond. Below are some examples of green preserved plant walls in action. Take note of how seeing the lush greenery makes you feel when even looking at a photo… now imagine opening your computer and getting work done while next to a natural element like moss. #Dreamy.

The Vue Uptown Apartments, a Northwood Ravin property, recently hired us to create this beautiful green wall on the 50th Floor bar of their luxury high rise in Charlotte, NC. This full moss panel brought a natural softness to the bar area. It’s pretty awesome to be able to design and bring to life a green wall from start to finish.
This Moss Art was a true labor of love. The existing wall was all white tile and we had to design an inset moss panel, which is always a challenge. However, The Vue team and our crew of artists were able to bring this vision to life. It’s about 16.5′ w x 3.75′ h with a custom branded logo through the center. It was created using two different types of preserved moss; Mood Moss and Sheet Moss. And yes, preserved means that the plants are no longer living (aka preserved), so no maintenance is required!
This is such a great example of how bringing in elements of Biophilic Design can completely change how a space feels. While gorgeous, the original bar was slightly sterile and cold. Once we were able to bring in these plants, the energy of the space became warmer and more connected to nature. You find yourself wanting to spend more time in the space. It’s pretty magical that our Moss Art can bring so many amazing elements to the table.
Love this video from The Vue Uptown Apartments 50th Floor Bar where you can see the entire room. Really brings it all together.

The Conspiracy Moss Art
This is the second piece that we have created at this Northwood Ravin property. We created a 5′ metal banded Mixed Moss piece for The Conspiracy, their speakeasy on the ground level of the high rise. This is a bar open to the public, so be sure to swing by and check out the art.
