We LOVE getting to work with interns who are passionate, inquisitive and excited about the work that we are doing at #thesavageway. We have a gem in our newest intern, Katie Lacks. We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a little better.

What’s your nickname? Gator
Where did you go to school? Miami of Ohio
How did you hear about #thesavageway? After noticing their Clean Graffiti during my runs…then looking further into #thesavageway on Social Media (Instagram and Facebook).
Why did you want to work with #thesavageway? I wanted to be a part of this inspirational duo and learn the ropes of running a startup company in the creative industry.
You’re a few weeks into this internship, what are your thoughts thus far? Torrie and Paula are A.MAZ.ING! Seriously, two of the most fun and innovative ladies I’ve ever met…I feel so lucky to be a part of their magic even if only for a few months.

The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association has created an interactive marketing campaign utilizing Clean Graffiti and supporting businesses called the 49er Alumni PERKS Scavenger Hunt!

On May 1, 2016, the City of Charlotte will open the city streets from NoDa to Memorial Stadium so that people can play, run, sing, play music and dance in the streets. That’s right – no cars, no worries.
Open Streets 704 “aims to build a better, healthier, connected community by encouraging Charlotte and Mecklenburg area residents to walk, bicycle, and experience the city together in a way that’s just not possible in a car.” Our friends at Well-Run Media have been working hard to spread the word about this inaugural Charlotte initiative. We were lucky enough to once again partner with DC and his wonderful team along with the Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation Department for another round of Clean Graffiti.

We put down this awesome reverse graffiti in several parks around the city including Cordelia, Spencer St. and Clemson Ave. parks in NoDa; Independence Park in Elizabeth; and Freedom Park in the Dilworth area of Charlotte, NC.

We love it when a brand or company sees Clean Graffiti for all that it can be – ART. Yes, it is an innovative outdoor messaging alternative and captures your target demos attention in a new and different way, but it is also a chance to create some beautiful artwork. That is exactly what Shawn Cosner and the Third Rock Events crew decided to do for the South End Hops Fest on May 14, 2016.

For this particular Clean Graffiti campaign, #thesavageway created some beautiful hops and leaves on the ground reminiscent of the delicious beer that will be consumed during the festival. The incorporation of the event hashtag, #SouthEndHopsFest, lets passersby know where to find more information on all of the social media portals.

The third annual South End Hops Fest will be taking place on May 14, 2016 at 308 Carson Blvd at the corner of Mint Street. Festival hours are 1:00-6:00pm for VIP ticket holders and 2:00-6:00pm for general admission ticket holders. South End Hops Fest is a chance to celebrate craft beer, live music, great food trucks and it’s dog friendly!

This quote has been a guiding principle for our company this year. We both make a conscious effort every single day to practice gratitude and live our lives in a positive way. Life is busy and hard and sometimes overwhelming, but we actively choose to focus on the good things. The rest will eventually figure itself out. Life is entirely too short to complain or be doing something that you don’t believe in. We are put on this earth to love, to dream big, to take chances and to make a positive impact on the world.
There are a million things to be grateful for this year and we wanted to share a handful of the things that bring us joy.

Having the ability and flexibility to travel and enjoy new experiences. We are beyond grateful that we’ve had the opportunity to not only travel for work but also to take some time to relax on a personal level. We’ve been able to go coast to coast to sightsee and reflect on the hard work that we’ve put in over the years. It was nice and we know how fortunate we are to be able to see other parts of the world.
