We’ve partnered with OrthoCarolina on a number of projects over the years. You may remember our motivational running messages, Panthers football campaign and #WalkCLT in Plaza Midwood. However, our latest initiative, #CLTFreeWorkout, is definitely one of the most interactive and community building campaigns that we’ve ever created.
#CLTFreeWorkout is a Clean Graffiti campaign that utilizes the sidewalks to guide a series of FREE body-weight exercises in six different areas of town. Those areas include Sedgefield, NoDa, Dilworth, West Charlotte, Cherry and Wilmore. Click here for maps.
OrthoCarolina is a huge proponent of building community and promoting health & wellness in the greater Charlotte area. When we approached the Vice President of Marketing, Blair Primis, with an idea to create pop-up style workout stations, he lit up in excitement.
“I thought the idea was brilliant,” said Primis, “and my immediate response was that we will make this happen. Done.”
We worked with OrthoCarolina physician, Aaron Hewitt, to create safe, easy-to-learn exercises that could be turned into a full body workout. The exercises include Air Squats, Arm Circles, Push-ups, Lunges, Jumping Jacks & Plank – repeat 5x. Instructional videos can be found here on www.cltfreeworkout.com.
One of the greatest elements of #CLTFreeWorkout is that we created a hashtag with the campaign. Now, whenever people are out doing the workout (whether they planned it or they stumbled upon it on a daily run), they can post a picture to social media and use #CLTFreeWorkout. We are able to track & see how many people are interacting with this healthy initiative.
Now that the campaign is launched, our client is seeing the results. “We’re thrilled,” said Primis. “The community has embraced it and are out there getting the workouts in. So cool to see.”
You can check out more coverage from our awesome city-wide campaign in the Charlotte Observer article, Charlotte Agenda feature, Charlotte Five coverage or this news clip from WCNC. Hopefully we will see this awesome initiative in other cities soon!
