Biophilic Design Incorporated into Exterior Design
Recently, we had the opportunity to bring a moment of calm to Truist’s outdoor atrium space. We created an outdoor Faux Greenery wall using an A-Class fire-rated and UV protected product. That means Truist gets all of the aesthetic benefits of a ‘living plant wall’ without the need for natural light, a maintenance schedule or drainage.
For Truist Bank, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, we’ve had the pleasure of creating several moments of biophilic design for the interior corporate offices. Check out the 40′ preserved Moss Art wall we created for them. If you are not familiar, Biophilic Design blends someone’s innate attraction to nature and living things into architecture and interior design. Many modern workspaces seek to integrate biophilic design strategies and the nature-forward approach into their design plans for a variety of reasons; improving employees’ quality of life, meeting sustainability goals and increasing productivity and creativity.
This outdoor wall was a great solution to bringing some of that biophilia to the atrium of the building when Moss Art was not an option. Moss Art is an indoor only product (as it can’t withstand the changing elements). However, this Faux Greenery was the perfect way to incorporate everything we love about preserved plant walls while being outside. It creates a moment for both employees and passersby. In a chaotic world, any moment to pause and take in a sense of calm is well worth it in our opinion.

Before Photos of Truist Outdoor Faux Greenery Wall in Uptown Charlotte, NC

The project covered 110 sqft of space and looks lovely in the background of the Uptown Charlotte landscape. The use of additional purple foliage helps to bring together the branding elements of Truist. It is a subtle nod to their brand but an important one for brand recognition.
We are loving the addition of outdoor Faux Greenery as a product offering at The Savage Way. If you are looking for a lush, green product with longevity that withstand the elements, reach out!

One of the things that The Savage Way is known for is our custom signage Moss Art. Our pieces are highly designed to the client’s desires, all while following brand standards. We pride ourselves on giving our clients a full circle experience, from the brainstorming & design phase to final execution. With our extensive marketing background, we understand those established brand standards and maintaining the brand aesthetic. We love when we get a chance to create signage out of our preserved plants.
There are a multitude of ways to display your branded signage in the office, but using Moss is such a unique experience. It adds greenery to your space in an unexpected and creative way. And the beauty of working with The Savage Way, is that we are able to customize the requested design to fit your interior design intent. Below are several ways that we have created signage out of moss for our clients.

From neon signage on a mixed moss backer to routed & filled letters that are stud mounted to the wall, Moss Art brings an elevated biophilic design element to any space. We are able to translate a traditional logo or even your company mission statement / core values into a stylized Moss Art piece.
Moss Art is definitely a trend we can get behind. There are so many benefits to bringing plants into workspaces. Nature is calming, reduces stress and leads to an overall better experience in an office setting. Our custom signage Moss Art creations are a great alternative to living plants (since Moss Art require zero maintenance!)
Our team is ready when you are to brainstorm all the creative solutions to bring your brand or logo “to life.” Since Moss Art does not require maintenance, it’s truly an ideal alternative in the signage and decorating space. Email us at [email protected] to start the conversation.

We recently had a project that took us to Charleston, SC. Our client, Emily Adams with State Farm Insurance, wanted a green moss wall feature for her gorgeous new office space on John’s Island.
Our team and Emily’s team brainstormed several ideas for the feature wall and we landed on creating a piece that highlighted the Angel Oak Tree that is native to the Charleston area. We used preserved Mood Moss and Sheet Moss in a lush green color and then topped with a massive oak tree sign. The moss wall was inset into a nook that then had lights to showcase the detail. Creating a green moss wall like this is no small feat. The amount of detail it takes to intricately weave the moss in all of those crevices is something to be applauded.

Moss Art is a great solution for corporate interior design. The product requires no maintenance so there is no need for expensive drainage systems or access to natural sunlight or ongoing maintenance packages that some living walls can require. With moss, you are able to get all of the look and energy that a plant brings into a space without the headaches.
We love having clients who trust us with the creative process. Emily was very much involved in the the design discussions but allowed us to lean on our expertise and bring her vision for this space to life. To give you an idea, a project of this size (10′ w x 5′ h) that was a full moss wall with flush-mounted tree logo inset into a nook, took over 20 hours of mossing in-house plus on-site touchups over two days with the install team. It also took over 20+ pounds of moss to complete the look. All of this on top of the design time! So much gratitude for our team who brought this to life.

Custom Moss Art Charlotte Crown by #thesavageway.
The Charlotte Crown has never looked so good! We adore this Custom Moss Art piece that we created for a client in their 4th Ward home in Charlotte, NC. This piece is almost 3′ wide and fits perfectly in the foyer entrance of this neighborhood high rise.
The beauty of an original Moss Art piece by #thesavageway is that you get all of the beauty and greenery of a living wall / plant, but without any of the maintenance. That’s right. We use preserved moss so there is no need to water or leave the art near sunlight. We have perfectly crafted the artwork to maintain its color and texture for years to come.

When a client approaches you with enthusiasm and genuine appreciation for your art, it is truly a special experience. We had the best time working with Leigh Brown of RE/MAX Executive Realty on a custom RE/MAX Moss Art sign for her corporate office. She contacted because she was looking to revamp her office décor and bring some new life to her workspace.
This logo turned out so crisp and clean. We love how our preserved moss brings all of the benefits of a traditional living wall without all of the maintenance. There is no need to water the art or keep the piece near a sunny window. #thesavageway Moss Art will maintain its appearance indefinitely – just hang it and enjoy it!
