We recently had a project that took us to Charleston, SC. Our client, Emily Adams with State Farm Insurance, wanted a green moss wall feature for her gorgeous new office space on John’s Island.
Our team and Emily’s team brainstormed several ideas for the feature wall and we landed on creating a piece that highlighted the Angel Oak Tree that is native to the Charleston area. We used preserved Mood Moss and Sheet Moss in a lush green color and then topped with a massive oak tree sign. The moss wall was inset into a nook that then had lights to showcase the detail. Creating a green moss wall like this is no small feat. The amount of detail it takes to intricately weave the moss in all of those crevices is something to be applauded.
Moss Art is a great solution for corporate interior design. The product requires no maintenance so there is no need for expensive drainage systems or access to natural sunlight or ongoing maintenance packages that some living walls can require. With moss, you are able to get all of the look and energy that a plant brings into a space without the headaches.
We love having clients who trust us with the creative process. Emily was very much involved in the the design discussions but allowed us to lean on our expertise and bring her vision for this space to life. To give you an idea, a project of this size (10′ w x 5′ h) that was a full moss wall with flush-mounted tree logo inset into a nook, took over 20 hours of mossing in-house plus on-site touchups over two days with the install team. It also took over 20+ pounds of moss to complete the look. All of this on top of the design time! So much gratitude for our team who brought this to life.

Hello 2023! There is a genuine excitement and readiness that comes with the beginning of the year. The energy is palpable. I know The Savage Way team was lucky enough to take the holiday break to relax, spend time with friends and family and reflect on the previous year.
2022 HIGHLIGHTS
- 10 Year Anniversary: how is that even possible, but we celebrated our decade in business. The amount of love that we felt from our clients, friends and family was extraordinary. It was the perfect moment to celebrate what we’ve accomplished and ignite a new passion for 2023.

MOSS ART
Moss Art / Biophilic design is huge in the design world and we are grateful to be a big part of it. Our experience and creativity help to make us a go-to, local source for preserved green walls. In addition to the green walls, acoustic panels, and logos that we are known for, we are pushing the line with our integration of paint and moss. Our incredible team of artists collaborate on ideas and we CAN’T WAIT to bring some new styles and lines to our online shop this year.
CLEAN GRAFFITI
Clean Graffiti continues to be a sleeper horse for marketing and advertising companies across the country. Our eco-friendly sidewalk messaging is the perfect shake-up to the media buy. Clients are constantly asking for the next best thing, what else can they do beyond magazine ads, billboards, and digital ad buys. Clean Graffiti (aka Reverse Graffiti) allows the client to target their audience exactly where they walk everyday – the sidewalk. Everyone is looking down at their phone already, so what better way to reach them than to put a positive, fun, applicable message pressure-washed onto the dirty sidewalk?! It’s eye-catching, innovative and sure to spark a conversation. Have you ever experienced our Moss Art on a beautifully painted mural? Well, that is exactly what we did with our recent Moss Art project, and we are nothing short of in love with how the final product turned out. Que Chula Craft Tacos & Tequila Bar is a Mexican restaurant located in Chapel Hill, NC. They specialize in drawing flavors from traditional Mexican dishes & adding a modern twist to showcase the overall versatility of Mexican food. With this modernized take on traditional recipes, Que Chula needed the atmosphere to match. That’s where The Savage Way steps in!
With The Savage Way x Que Chula collaboration, we created a custom Moss Art piece, and placed it on top of an already existing floral mural. We used a style called routed & filled when creating the outline of the “Que Chula” sign, and filled it with our preserved Reindeer Moss. Our overall approach was to not only contribute to an eye-catching, Instagrammable wall, but make it into a great branding opportunity as well. We love the end result, as it brings greenery inside the establishment without the maintenance.
Moss Art is a great option for restaurants and bars across the country. Since all of our plants are preserved, there is no need for maintenance. That means no water, no sunlight and no green-thumb required. From logos to partition walls, Moss Art allows restaurants to elevate their interior design and create a unique vibe.

Preserved Moss Logo for Charlotte’s Local Media Source
Charlotte Agenda is a popular news source here in Charlotte, NC. It is the brainchild of Ted Williams and Katie Levans. According to their credo, “The Agenda exists to make Charlotte smarter and better connected,” and they do this with a daily newsletter, their website, Instagram & the annual City Guide. Watching their team grow and evolve into the pulse of the Queen City has been incredible.
We were honored when Cristina Wilson (President / Partner) and Abby Clark (Operations Manager) approached us to create the Charlotte Agenda logo in moss for their brand new office. And the best part was that it was a surprise for Ted, Katie and the rest of the staff. The talented Marissa Wilson of Artful Interiors was responsible for the interior design of their new space at Gather Wilmore (529 W. Summit Ave. Charlotte, NC). We quietly worked on this 4’ wide piece in our studio while the office was built out.
When the day finally came for installation, we gathered our team and headed to the new Agenda Headquarters. Getting to see the bare bones of this office was a treat. We know what it takes to get a business up and running and we could just feel the excitement in the air. Our Moss Art accompanied a gorgeous handmade table by Rosewood Co. Talk about plant love! What happens when Charlotte’s first CBD dispensary, Charlotte CBD, asks us to create a custom logo out of moss? Magic… that’s what happens.
The Moss Art piece that we created in collaboration with our partners, 8Lincoln30, turned out magnificent for Charlotte CBD, located at 2419 Central Ave. The piece is 54 inches x 44 inches and filled with so much love. The forest green moss brings a rich and sophisticated design element to an already cool shop aesthetic.

Moss Art for Charlotte CBD and it’s all about the detail… so fresh and so clean.
CBD is new to a lot of people and it can definitely be overwhelming with all of the information available these days. Charlotte Agenda had a great article on Charlotte CBD and what exactly CBD is… “Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is an extract from the cannabis plant that’s popping up in everything from cookies to cocktails lately. Unlike its cousin THC, CBD is non-psychoactive and legal in all 50 states, which means it won’t get you high.” CBD is celebrated for its medicinal properties and used in treatment for a range of conditions from epilepsy to anxiety and depression.
We are honored to have created this custom piece for Charlotte’s first CBD dispensary and bud bar. Please stop in and check them out.
