Annual RAIN AIDS Walk Happening May 30

Annual RAIN AIDS Walk Happening May 30

KEY POINTS
– The annual AIDS Walk is happening in Charlotte, NC on May 30, 2026
– RAIN Carolina is celebrating 30 years of impact
– Clean Graffiti was used as a non-traditional advertising method to help spread the word

RAIN Carolina is hosting the annual AIDS WALK Charlotte on Saturday, May 30.  The Savage Way had the honor of creating a Clean Graffiti campaign for them. It is beyond impressive to have an organization that spans three decades, and to have the impact that they’ve created is just icing on the cake.

For 30 years, RAIN Carolina has consistently been the Carolinas’ largest HIV fundraising walk, raising an impressive $3.7 million to date. The family-oriented event is approximately a one-mile walk that can be completed in around 30 minutes, making it accessible to participants of all ages. Anyone who wishes to participate and show their compassion for neighbors who face challenges in accessing resources and health services, particularly those affected by HIV stigma are welcome.

Our Clean Graffiti campaign went down around popular areas in Charlotte, NC. We found high-foot traffic areas in a variety of neighborhoods around the city, with a focus on Uptown, South End, West Side, NoDa and Plaza Midwood. This eco-friendly medium was a great way to build awareness for the upcoming community event.

Clean Graffiti is a great option as a non-traditional advertising outlet. We are able to speak to your audience right where they are walking – the sidewalk. Seeing a pressure washed message on the sidewalk is a definite attention grabber. We love being able to support organizations like RAIN.

To get involved, simply visit aidswalkclt.org and click “REGISTER NOW” to sign up. Once registered, you can customize your personal page and start reaching out to friends and family to join the walk or support you with donations. There are a wealth of resources available, including social media and fundraising kits, to assist you in recruiting others and boosting your fundraising efforts.

We love their mission of standing together as a community and making a difference in the lives of those affected by HIV. Join RAIN Carolina & AIDS WALK Charlotte and be part of the positive change we wish to see in our city.

Outdoor Faux Greenery for Truist Bank in Uptown Charlotte

Outdoor Faux Greenery for Truist Bank in Uptown Charlotte

Biophilic Design Incorporated into Exterior Design

Recently, we had the opportunity to bring a moment of calm to Truist’s outdoor atrium space. We created an outdoor Faux Greenery wall using an A-Class fire-rated and UV protected product. That means Truist gets all of the aesthetic benefits of a ‘living plant wall’ without the need for natural light, a maintenance schedule or drainage.

For Truist Bank, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, we’ve had the pleasure of creating several moments of biophilic design for the interior corporate offices. Check out the 40′ preserved Moss Art wall we created for them. If you are not familiar, Biophilic Design blends someone’s innate attraction to nature and living things into architecture and interior design. Many modern workspaces seek to integrate biophilic design strategies and the nature-forward approach into their design plans for a variety of reasons; improving employees’ quality of life, meeting sustainability goals and increasing productivity and creativity.

This outdoor wall was a great solution to bringing some of that biophilia to the atrium of the building when Moss Art was not an option. Moss Art is an indoor only product (as it can’t withstand the changing elements). However, this Faux Greenery was the perfect way to incorporate everything we love about preserved plant walls while being outside. It creates a moment for both employees and passersby. In a chaotic world, any moment to pause and take in a sense of calm is well worth it in our opinion.

The project covered 110 sqft of space and looks lovely in the background of the Uptown Charlotte landscape. The use of additional purple foliage helps to bring together the branding elements of Truist. It is a subtle nod to their brand but an important one for brand recognition.

We are loving the addition of outdoor Faux Greenery as a product offering at The Savage Way. If you are looking for a lush, green product with longevity that withstand the elements, reach out!

CLEAN GRAFFITI

We had the honor of working with Mary Johnson and Meg Seitz, the powerhouses behind the marketing for this year’s Speed Street, on a Clean Graffiti campaign. We put down a fun “Drive into Summer” message a month prior to this weekend’s event to help drive awareness. We placed these spots in high traffic areas around the popular neighborhoods of Uptown, Plaza Midwood, NoDa, Southend and FreeMoreWest.

The reaction from passersby has been great! We see people post on their Instagram stories all the time with this fun message. And the best part of this creative marketing is that it is just water. Using only a pressure washer and a stencil, we are able to create a contrast in the dirt and leave a clean message behind. Our eco-friendly messaging is a great accompaniment to an event’s marketing mix. You are targeting your audience exactly where they are.. the sidewalk.
