Urban MVMNT/Southend Grind use Moss Art to bring life to the lounge area of their LoSo Gym
Exercise, coffee and creating Moss Art are a few of our favorite things. When the guys at Urban MVMNT & Southend Grind Coffee called us to help them with a Moss Art piece, we knew that it was going to be awesome. However, we had no idea that after brainstorming with them, that we would be creating an 8 foot wide abstract map of the city.. in moss!
This piece turned into an interpretation of the LoSo area map. The “islands” of moss represent the land and the space where the wall pops through are the streets of Charlotte. We brought in our wood partners, 8lincoln30, to help us create the backing for this massive piece. Jeremy & Jason Calamusa (yes, they are brothers), also assisted with the installation of the art.
At the time of our installation, they were still finalizing all of the other new additions to the lounge area. But we saw the plans… it’s going to be GORGEOUS! So do yourself a favor and stop into their space and have a look around. You can stop in anytime, grab a coffee and hang out in the lounge. (note: you do not have to be a gym member to enjoy this gorgeous space in Charlotte)

MOSS ART
Moss Art is made by using preserved plants to bring a company logo or design element to life. And what we consistently hear from our clients is that they love that our product requires absolutely zero maintenance. That’s right…no watering, drainage or sunlight required!
Our Moss Art work spans both the corporate and residential realm, however, we find that the corporate side is our primary focus. We hold our clients’ hands from the beginning and guide them to what will be the best decision for their space.

Various Creative Marketing efforts by #thesavageway.
We are #thesavageway. We’re not your typical creative house. We constantly push ourselves to think differently. We approach campaigns with different lenses. We are excited about what we do. And we want to work with companies that push the line. Brands that are looking to stand out, create a social buzz, and break out of the same-ole-same-ole are exactly who were are looking to partner with in 2019.
We’re jazzed up about our current projects. But more importantly, we’re ready for you!
We just created an awesome Clean Graffiti campaign for Novel NoDa (seriously, we love it). Often we recommend putting a more artistic message down when using Clean Graffiti. Make it art. Make it pretty. Make the brand more subtle (You know, brought to you by XYZ company). Over our six years of being in business, we have found that the consumer absorbs a message like this so much better. It’s already unexpected to be on the sidewalk and in our world of third party social media content, frankly you should push for something fun, cool, witty or “Instagrammable” to represent your brand.
Clean Graffiti artwork by #thesavageway & Kyle Mosher for Novel NoDa Apartments.
Novel NoDa’s Clean Graffiti looks great on the sidewalks of the NoDa & Plaza Midwood neighborhoods.
As an apartment complex in the NoDa neighborhood, Novel NoDa has embraced the arts community. From murals, interior decor, events, Clean Graffiti, and so much more – they believe in supporting art and artists. So we decided to recreate this love again – but on the sidewalk (just using water).
The Clean Graffiti message states “Believe in Art.” How rad is that?! With Kyle’s signature style added into the design, we have to say that this might be one of our favorite messages to date. It comes full circle to the brand because of their huge tie to the arts community. In fact, Kyle is running a contest to give away even MORE custom art. Check out his Instagram post to see the details on how posting a picture of the Clean Graffiti could snag a hand signed print of your choosing.
We are obsessed with this design from Kyle and the message to “Believe in Art”…. because clearly we do and we want everyone to see beauty everywhere.????????????
Custom Signage for New Uptown Charlotte Restaurant
Graham St. Pub & Patiois new to Uptown Charlotte. This restaurant/bar has one of the best outdoor patios and is casual enough to hit up before a Charlotte Knights baseball game. That’s a win-win in our books. Check out this awesome view from the upstairs patio (photo via @GrahamStPub Instagram).
To make this new Charlotte restaurant even better, they wanted a custom Moss Art sign. We were honored to create a piece for the team at Graham St. Our Moss Art requires no maintenance, so that means you can hang it anywhere. No need for a water source, drainage or sunlight! It truly is perfect to bring a green interior design element into a space without any of the long-term maintenance.
Check out the finished product below. And better yet, go see it in person at Graham St. Pub & Patio (400 S. Graham St Charlotte, NC) and enjoy a cocktail on the patio.

Soul Food Sessions is a nonprofit founded in Charlotte, N.C., in 2017 to raise awareness and enhance opportunities for black chefs. This movement showcases diverse culinary talents and brings people together to talk about increasing equal opportunity in the food industry. This summer, a group of talented chefs are hitting the road on a four-city tour sponsored by Coca-Cola Consolidated.
We had the amazing opportunity to partner with Soul Food Sessions and their creative agency, Luquire George Andrews, on a Clean Graffiti campaign. Our eco-friendly messages went down in Charlotte, NC and we will be hitting the road leading up to the other events to help promote this amazing initiative.
